History

The Amber Museum will be a favourite place for all lovers of that precious stone, which the Kaliningrad land is rich in. The Museum hosts a variety of temporary and permanent exhibitions devoted to the “sun stone”: its history, applications in different areas of people’s lives: in art and even in medicine. In the Museum you also can buy the desirable precious stone in the most diverse shapes. The Museum itself is housed in an interesting building — The Dohna Tower, a fortification of a Prussian Generalfeldmarschall, veteran of the Napoleonic Wars. Furthermore, the Museum actively conducts research and publication activities that allow it to develop and improve the quality of the tours and services for the benefit of its visitors. More detailed information on the Museum can be found on it's website.
